I'm 22 years old, born and raised in Adelaide, Australia. I started this blog for myself so I can see my thoughts over time and how they've changed. Basically just a log for me, but also somewhere to put my beliefs and personality out there so people can see who I am and how I actually feel about things.

I've always been fascinated by technology and what our world will look like in the future. My favourite anime is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and I like the thought of staying in a high-rise apartment looking down over a city at night, with flying cars and neon lights.

But beyond how that future looks, I see megacorporations controlling everything and the rich staying rich and comfortable while the poor suffer. With AI progressing so quickly, I hope our world improves for the better rather than ending up like that, with the gap just getting wider every day.

That interest in how things look carries over into a lot of what I enjoy. I'm obsessed with customisation and personalising things. I have quite a few custom mechanical keyboards, and the one I'm currently using is light blue. So is my mouse. You can see a pattern here.

I think the creativity aspect is what really got me interested in making things. I get to choose and I get to decide everything, from what something looks like to how it sounds and feels. It's my real choice. I like making things that bring out an emotion in people or make them go, "oh wow, that's cool." It's satisfying for me too, being able to express my creativity and make something I enjoy the look of.

Right now, I'm putting that into a mobile game for couples. It's called duo in my GitHub, although that's not the final name of course. I want to make something to compete with other long-distance apps, where you can play with your partner at the same time but also contribute when they're offline.

That could be leaving a little note for them or building another floor or room of your dream home in the game. They could come back later and see what you've made, then keep building with you. I want you to feel proud of that shared progress. Something you wouldn't want to just delete, because you can directly see where your time was spent.

I have a girlfriend from Tokyo, so long distance is part of my own life too. I'd love to live there for a while. When I was in Japan, I really felt independent, like nobody could really bother me. There was good food I could eat every day, and I could go out and do whatever I wanted. My dream is to have that freedom, spend time with her and not be tied to one location.

Realistically though, I still need to make money. I'm solo freelancing with a limited runway, so I really need this game to do well. I want to give people a good experience while bringing in some revenue through in-app purchases at the same time.

Getting there means actually finishing it, which is something I struggle with. Whenever there's a little bit of friction, I tend to move towards whatever's the next easiest thing to complete. I like finishing things, but it's easier when the thing itself is easy. I do enjoy pushing myself through something difficult too, and yes, I feel a sense of achievement when I get it done.

Eventually, I'd like to help other people who have been in my position and build experiences without needing a financial return from everything. I'm not there yet. For now, I'm trying to make this work so I can support myself and have more choice over where I live and what I spend my time doing.

I guess that's where I'm at right now :))
