The idea behind my Build It For Me series is that my girlfriend has a problem in Japan and I try to solve it by coding something for her from Australia. Kuma was an app I made specifically for that series.

It's a simple premise for a video, and it gives me a reason to build something for a person I know. The problem comes from something happening in her life, so there's already someone I can ask about whether what I've made is useful.

Kuma is in her hands now. I don't have a big launch result to write about, but it's one of the projects that came directly from the idea for the series.

I've also been working on duo with her. That's a separate app, although it's easy for the names and ideas to get mixed together. We haven't named the creature in duo yet, and it isn't called Kuma.

There's a lot I'm still figuring out with making videos around the things I build. I like this premise because I can start with a specific problem she has and make the project around that. We're living in different countries, and this is one way I can use what I know how to do to help with something over there.
